Our client is a forward-thinking US-based Web3 company specializing in crypto exchange services. It offers an altcoin exchange for perpetual contract trading and gives access to 100+ crypto markets for registered users.

Client’s Requirements/Goals

Our client was a forward-thinking Web3 company that aimed to develop a flagship DEX for trading perpetual contracts with access to a wide variety of crypto markets. They relied on us to oversee the whole development process, from the initial UI/UX design up to smart contract deployment and long-term maintenance. Business Challenge

We surmounted several significant technical challenges, such as:

• High-Throughput WebSocket Message Exchange: We optimized the performance of the platform in handling heavy real-time data streaming to ensure seamless trading experiences, a crucial aspect of high-performance DEXs.
• High-Quality Web3 UI/UX Design & UI/UX: Created an immersive, visually appealing user interface specifically designed for decentralized trading and featuring seamless navigation and interaction—both key to Web3 adoption and user retention.
• Social Integration: We introduced Twitter login, sharing, and trading options, enhancing user experience and convenience, a feature that provides more experience to users in the current era.
• Data Integrity & Reliability: Employing Kafka facilitated robust transaction and price rollback history, ensuring data correctness and platform stability, a basic component of a stable DEX.
• Scalability and Security: With zkSync, a zero-knowledge rollup on Ethereum, and zkSNARKs, we ensured the security and transparency of every transaction, which is paramount for user trust within a decentralized exchange.

Implementation

The project was initiated in April 2023 and is still in progress. Depending on the project’s phase, the team working on the crypto exchange’s design and functionality included from five to ten 4IRE team members.

Solution Delivered

Strategic Blockchain Consulting

UI/UX Kit 

The 4IRE team designed and developed the entire set of UI and UX features. Every page was crafted with design elements and structured layouts to ensure a functional, sleek, and cohesive platform. 

Core Platform Functionality 

We used the zkSync rollup powered by Ethereum to enable crypto trading and exchange operations on the platform. The zkRisk algorithm was implemented to set the minimum amount of capital for the exchange and maximize the probability of solvency, thus turning the DEX into a composable ecosystem of safe DeFi products. zkSNARK was introduced to ensure the transparency and security of operations on the platform, making them verifiable and accessible to any interested party. 

Asset Management 

Our development team also implemented full functionality for asset sale, purchase, and management in a user’s portfolio. The portfolio page was designed in the form of an information-rich, intuitive dashboard that gives a user a 360-degree view of their assets and portfolio status. 

Smart Contracts 

ERC-20 Ethereum smart contracts were created and tested by the 4IRE blockchain engineering team in line with the platform’s suggested functionality. Smart contracts are needed to enable financial transactions, staking, yield farming, and other operations vital to the platform’s operations. A comprehensive smart contract audit was held at the final stages of development to guarantee the platform’s integrity. 

Liquidity Provision

A separate category of the platform’s functionality is the liquidity provision program with passive income possibilities. Users can stake their USDC to the platform’s liquidity pool and earn yields from their assets without engaging in trading activities. The LP section also presents the full overview of earnings statistics and operations with the staked funds. 

Asset Management 

The DEX was equipped with a comprehensive portfolio management dashboard to give users a 360-degree view of their assets. 

CI/CD Setup 

We integrated CI/CD tools into the DEX infrastructure. This feature ensures fast and reliable platform updates for its smooth operations. 

Project Outcomes 

The multi-chain DEX started its operations in summer 2024. An intuitive and coherent UI with multiple features and statistics categories ensured quick adoption. Quick trades, comprehensive portfolio management features, reasonable yields for LPs, and technical safety measures have all contributed to its market success.
