4IRE is an established leader in blockchain technology consulting and delivery, which means we can assist at any stage of project development. This success story is a testament to our in-depth cryptography and data analysis expertise, which we’re ready to provide on early-stage projects in the proof-of-concept phase.
About the Client
The client is a global-scale enterprise (NDA-protected) seeking to utilize enterprise blockchain R&D services for consensus innovation and advanced cryptography to set up an alternative blockchain consensus mechanism for next-gen crypto mining and validation.
Client’s Requirements/Goals
The client approached the 4IRE team with the following set of requirements and goals:
- Evaluate various consensus models to identify the most suitable alternative with a promise of decentralization and scalability.
- Improve the existing Bitcoin PoW framework with mathematically informed and cryptographically secure upgrades.
- Test the Bitcoin fork for niche industry use cases.
- Test the feasibility of new software as a solution for performance improvements.
- Create a detailed whitepaper for the new consensus mechanism that may withstand professional scrutiny and inform further developments of the project.
Business Challenge
The main business challenge the 4IRE team encountered in this case was the client’s need for advanced cryptographic, software engineering, and data science expertise – a rare tech stack enjoying top demand in the present-day blockchain industry. The team assigned to this project had to possess extensive expertise in the Bitcoin source code, blockchain system architecture, block validation principles, mining mechanisms, and tools used for dynamic difficulty adjustments. Since the BTC codebase is written in Go, the assigned experts should be senior-level Go programmers with an analytical mindset and proficiency in advanced algorithmic concepts.
Implementation
4IRE assigned a team with advanced cryptography skills to assist the client with the proof-of-concept stage of work. The implementation phase involved the creation of a Bitcoin fork for the rigorous, multi-stage test of the client’s custom blockchain solutions. A project manager, a DevOps engineer, an external cryptographic expert at a senior level, and a team of blockchain developers and testers worked on this project.
Solution Delivered
The present project represented a new level of expert cryptographic consulting for the 4IRE team. We delivered impressive results in:
- Prototype testing with Bitcoin fork development. We proposed workable, mathematically sound methods for Bitcoin blockchain protocol optimization by diving deep into the core of Bitcoin’s PoW mechanics and testing alternative methods for block validation.
- Cryptographic consulting. Due to our access to the global tech talent network and the availability of 250+ experienced programmers and engineers on board, we’ve quickly built a cryptographic consulting team. Consultants, developers, and testers worked in tandem to bring the client’s business concept to reality and offer practical insights into the feasibility of its technical implementation.
- MBD approach. We employed the Model-Based Blockchain Development model in the work on this project to perform the business idea’s testing in simulated environments with minimal risks and accelerated iterations. The MBD method proved valuable for experimentation with the Bitcoin consensus mechanism and testing the client’s hypotheses with a high degree of scientific accuracy.
- Proof-of-concept assistance. The 4IRE team entered the project at the proof-of-concept stage to help the client rebuild the business concept using evidence-based insights from simulated testing. As a result, the business idea was thoroughly validated with mathematical rigor and precision to inform further developments of this revolutionary approach.
- White paper writing. Our experts drafted a detailed whitepaper for the client’s project to outline its technical basis, cryptographic foundations, and key innovative ideas that will inform the development of robust and scalable crypto infrastructure.
- Testing on embedded software. The client’s idea was tested on their embedded software using a Bitcoin fork to check the feasibility of the PoW mechanism’s redesign from a mathematical and cryptographic angle.
All of these aspects of our work enabled the 4IRE team to give an expert review of the client’s business idea to offer a conceptually and technically different approach to executing the PoW work related to crypto mining.
Project Outcomes
This project is still in the works, becoming a promising blueprint for blockchain development for enterprise-level clients. By taking an in-depth dive into the mechanics of the Bitcoin consensus mechanism and mining process validation and supercharging it with a custom-built MDB solution, we have helped the client attain a greater level of cryptographic precision in their next-gen blockchain solution.
